Policies & Compliance

Conflict Minerals:

Section 5012 of the Dodd-Frank Act requires certain companies disclose the extent to which the products they manufacture or contract to manufacture contain conflict minerals sourced from mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries. Conflict minerals include tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold, which are used in many electronic components. Spirit Electronics, a distributor, is not within the scope of the bill’s reporting requirements. However, we know the importance of this initiative and believe that our customers should be informed about the products they purchase from us. Spirit Electronics will not knowingly procure products that contain conflict minerals that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in the DRC or adjoining countries.

In support of social responsibility and our commitment to excellence in service, Spirit Electronics works with our suppliers to obtain documentation regarding conflict minerals. To request conflict minerals reporting data from Spirit Electronics, please contact your Spirit sales or quality representative.

Spirit will provide safe handling information and data when such information is applicable and provided by our manufacturers. Spirit may request REACH documentation from our suppliers to fulfill customer requirements.
