Marti McCurdy, the new owner of Spirit Electronics and current CEO, is a veteran not only of the semiconductor business but also a veteran of the United States Air Force. Marti’s focus as CEO is to serve the aerospace and defense industry for high reliability components. She exercises her engineering knowledge of space qualified flows and sophisticated testing to deliver flight class devices. Throughout her career as a business owner and most recent position as VP, Marti’s goal is to bring her high standard of customer service and cultivated relationships to serve the aerospace sector she is so familiar with. Marti holds a current patent and is a published author in ultrasonic applications.

Mr. Zef Malik is an industry veteran with over 40 plus years of Semiconductor experience ranging from IC Manufacturing, Device Characterization, Test and Product Qualification. He was a founder of ICE/IQL Labs and then Silicon Turnkey Solutions, (STS) and remains a respected leader in deliverance for the Military Deep Space and High reliability market. Mr. Malik provides the channel for extensive expertise in the areas of FPGA's ASIC and RF devices which positions Spirit as an integrated OEM distributor that offers OEM devices and value added screened components to the market place.

Vickie Wessel, founder of Spirit Electronics, is a pioneer in the electronics and aerospace distribution arena. Vickie has more than 40 years of business leadership in sales, marketing, procurement, operations, contracts, finance and quality systems management. In 1979, she founded Spirit Electronics, LLC, and grew it into a successful, competitive business that lead to a viable acquisition. Post-sale, her depth of knowledge, skill set and understanding of the business make her a treasured part of Spirit in her continued tenure where she serves as COO, CFO and HR. Vickie’s innovative and business focused leadership and her continuous pursuit of quality and customer satisfaction has resulted in Spirit achieving many supplier excellence awards from Spirit’s customers, Distributor of the Year by Arizona’s Minority Business Development Agency, Distributor of the Year by the Grand Canyon Minority Supplier Development Council, and Region IX Subcontractor of the Year by the United States Small Business Administration. Vickie’s passion for improving the contracting environment for the benefit of small businesses throughout the nation was acknowledged by her receipt of the Aerospace Industries Association’s “Amelia Earhart Award”, recognizing women who achieve excellence in the aerospace and defense industry.
Keith has more than 14 years working in the aerospace and electronics industry and is a veteran of the United States Air Force. While serving, Keith was awarded two Achievement Medals: Airman of the Month for the 310th Fighter Squadron and nominated Airman of the Quarter. Keith received his Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Information Technology in 2002 and his Master of Business Administration Degree in 2004. Keith has been with Spirit Electronics for over 10 years and is an integral part of Operations of Spirit Electronics using his knowledge, experience, and learned skills to promote and ensure our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. Keith provides leadership responsibilities for the staff while overseeing the daily operations in conjunction with long term strategic planning and program management for customer projects.
Keith is married with three children and currently resides in Surprise, AZ.
Christy Solko is the Quality Manager for Spirit Electronics, LLC. She started in the aerospace industry more than five years ago. In her current role at Spirit, Christy oversees all facets of the quality management system, including certification to ISO 9001 and AS9100. This position establishes, implements, and maintains the policies and practices necessary to ensure the proper and effective operation of the Quality Management System, QMS. She works closely with the Spirit staff to; ensure customer needs are met, customer satisfaction is exceeded, and to promote continuous improvement.
Prior to this role, Christy worked in the business services industry for Xerox Corporation for more than 18 years specializing in operation management, pricing and contracts management, and Lean Six Sigma. During her career at Xerox she assisted with the creation and implementation of their District customer satisfaction training, Customer First. She also served as her District’s Xerox Community Involvement Program Coordinator.
She is married with two children and currently resides in Surprise, AZ.
Brian Karraker has more than a decade in the Military and Aerospace industry and serves as the Warehouse Manager at Spirit Electronics. He started as a Warehouse Associate with Spirit and was quickly promoted to Warehouse Manager for his outstanding skill in controlling the quality and on-time delivery of the Spirit inventory management. Brian’s meticulous attention to detail ensures that Spirit Electronics meets all industry, ISO 9001 and AS9100C standards, and that our customers receive the highest quality product that meets or exceeds their specifications. Brian is instrumental in the design of the processes and streamlining the logistics of the warehouse, making it a first class facility. Brian manages the warehouse team members and coordinates with the Operations Manager for a smooth operation behind the warehouse doors.
Brian is married and has 2 daughters. He enjoys hunting, fishing, boating – well anything outdoors!
Laura Bowling currently serves as Distribution Account Representative for Spirit Electronics. She has more than 37 years in the electronics and aerospace industry. She worked for Siemens Corporation from 1980 until 1992 when she joined Spirit Electronics. Laura is a liaison between the customer and our franchised suppliers and provides prompt, courteous and solutions-oriented customer service.
She is a native of Phoenix, AZ and enjoys the many opportunities that Arizona offers.
Megan Downie has over 15 years of experience in customer service and business administration. In her current role at Spirit, Megan is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships. She strives to provide superior customer satisfaction through excellent communication and the capability to fulfill every need.
Born and raised in Chicago, Megan moved to Scottsdale in 2015 to enjoy the gorgeous weather and beautiful scenary.
SMI Program Manager
Ivan Santana is a SMI Program Manager at Spirit Electronics, Inc. He has over 10 years of experience in distribution and supply chain. Ivan is responsible for customer interactions and communications and also works on all customer reporting and analytics. Ivan also is responsible for all new program implementations.
In 2005, Ivan obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University with a certificate in International Business. Ivan resides in Mesa, Arizona and has 3 children.
