Rakon has released its highest frequency oscillator: the LNO10000B3. The Oven Controlled Voltage Controlled SAW Oscillator (OCVCSO) generates a frequency output signal at 10 GHz. It is designed for X-band systems where superior phase noise performance and high frequency are essential.

The LNO10000B3 offers a microwave frequency output with ultra-low phase noise, making it an ideal solution for ground based military equipment, radar and instrumentation applications. The OCVCSO is also a great choice for the latest generation of high speed ADC/DAC where a high frequency clock with ultra-low jitter is essential.

The LNO10000 B3 is available in a 120.7 x 76.2x 23.3 mm package size. Standard frequencies such as 3.2, 4.8, and 5 GHz are also available within the LNO B3 product family. Custom frequencies up to 12 GHz are available upon request.

Rakon introduces VCSOs with High Frequency and Low Phase Noise Performance

Rakon has launched a new product family, expanding its broad product offering further. The ‘RSV’ Voltage Controlled SAW Oscillator (VCSO) family, uniquely positions Rakon SAW technology in the market. The family’s advanced Surface Acoustic Wave technology enables the ultimate in performance for low voltage applications that require excellent phase noise performance at very high frequencies.

The RSV2522 series is ideal for the latest generation of high speed converters, which require a high frequency clock with low jitter. The RSV2522-800, RSV2522-1000, RSV2522-1600 and RSV2522-2000 generate frequencies of 800MHz, 1GHz, 1.6GHz and 2GHz respectively.

The series uses high performance SAW resonators to generate 800MHz and 1GHz frequency outputs, and each are combined with a frequency doubler to reach 1.6GHz and 2GHz frequencies, respectively. The VCSOs can be easily locked to a stable reference through a Phase Locked Loop system, or they can be used as a SAW clock without the need for external circuitry. The RSV2522 series has low power consumption since a single +5V power supply is required, and performance is guaranteed over the full industrial temperature range of -40 to +85°C.

Available in a 25 x 22 x 5 mm3 SMD package the RSV2522 series offers a noise floor as low as -172 dBc/Hz (for 1GHz output) and has an outstanding broadband jitter performance of below 10 fs.

Rakon’s Ultra Stable Quartz Crystal Oscillator for Space Applications achieves the best performance by any space USO globally.

The new oscillator achieved a performance of 5.10-14/°C. This is a great development prior to Rakon beginning the next stage of downsizing the USO structure.
