Industry best practices to support our customers and protect our supply chain

Product Safety Awareness

Our processes and team training are run with product safety top-of-mind. Every member of Team Spirit knows their role in ordering, inspection, testing, and delivering safe and reliable electronics for high-reliability missions.

Business Ethics

Spirit’s ethics program educates our team on industry best practices to conduct business with integrity. We have an open team culture that encourages feedback and communication around how we do business with our customers and suppliers.

Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification is coming soon, and Spirit is prepared, already meeting level 3 requirements. We were early adopters of NIST cybersecurity framework and have consistently protected our customers’ orders, data, and communications in the supply chain.

Counterfeit Prevention

Spirit’s team is trained in our counterfeit prevention program. We only order through authorized manufacturers. Our procedures include strict traceability requirements and inspection criteria to identify, investigate and report suspect products. The program also includes controls for nonconforming product, scrap and returned materials.

Export Compliance for ITAR & EAR

Spirit Electronics is registered with the DTCC and licenses all export orders in compliance with US federal regulations. Spirit manages an export control program as part of its QMS for ITAR and EAR compliance. This program includes Spirit’s export policies and practices, employee training, data security, cybersecurity, facility security, visitor security, and customer and supplier evaluations. For more info, see Spirit’s Management Commitment to Export Compliance.

Customers are required to disclose end-use information prior to order acceptance. Customers without end-use disclosure or appropriate financial and business disclosures are prohibited from sale by process controls and order approvals. Spirit Electronics’ export controls expressly prohibit sale to suspicious persons, sanctioned companies, countries under embargo, or any customer that poses a national security threat.

Anti-Human Trafficking

Spirit Electronics maintains a zero-tolerance policy and prevention program regarding trafficking in persons. This certification statement of our anti-human trafficking program includes our reporting and awareness requirements.

Conflict Minerals

Spirit supports reporting practices under Section 5012 of the Dodd-Frank Act requiring disclosure of products containing conflict minerals sourced from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries. These minerals include tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold, which are used in many electronic components. Spirit works with our suppliers to obtain documentation regarding conflict minerals, and we will never knowingly procure products containing conflict minerals. To request reporting data from Spirit Electronics, please contact your Spirit sales or quality representative.

REACH

As a distributor, Spirit Electronics is aware of the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) requirements. Spirit will obtain information and ensure availability of data provided by our suppliers. Spirit may request REACH documentation from our suppliers. If you would like to request data for your order, or if you have questions about Spirit’s support of REACH or other compliance rules for material restrictions and composition, please contact your Spirit sales or quality representative.
